For Hannah

A cluster of flowers and feathers for the cake. It would lay along the base of it, so less of a circle but more elongated.

Something like this would be great for the three little girls to wear on their dresses around their waist. There will be one headband that I want to give to a pregnant sister-in-law for her little girl. She'll be 8 months pregnant with her!

This type of fabric and the rolled look might be better for the guys, to mimic a boutonniere. Probably with less obvious feathers though. The mom's corsages too.

I like the different fabrics in this one. this is the variety I'm envisioning for the sash, maybe incorporating a couple of different fabrics.

These flowers with the frayed fabric are my favorite. I definitely want something like this to put in my hair (one white for the temple and one color for after) and similar one attached to the sash.

I like these fluffy feathers, especially the white for in the temple. I'll switch the hairpiece out for one in color afterwards.

On this one, I just like how the flower is more in the middle of the piece, not with the feather sticking out on one side.

Road Trip: SC to CO

I spent two weeks siteseeing in Chaleston, SC. We saw the old lighthouse at Folly Beach, the Naval Museum, the Aquarium, historic downtown, Magnolia Garden Plantation, and hit up a huge Halloween party.

On the drive home we spent three days in the Great Smoky Mountains and haunted corn mazes of Knoxville, TN. Then a day in Nashville and another in St. Louis, MO.

There's nothing in Kansas so we headed straight to Denver for more hiking and a night out with Aunt Jan and Uncle John.

Denali National Park, AK

In April I took a detour from my normal life and decided to try a summer in the great frontier...Alaska! I spent five months of my life living at the McKinley Chalet Resort, working as a front desk manager. Work is work, and sucks anywhere in the world. But I went for the fun parts: Denali National Park, wildlife, sealife, North Pole, hikes, Into the Wild, Aurora Borealus, and crazy people.

Seward, AK

Of all the friends I made during my 2008 summer in Alaska, these are my favorites! We took a four-day weekend and headed to Seward, a couple of hours south of Anchorage. Luis, me, JD and Jamie became four peas in a pod. Love you, boys!

The smell of your own room. Seeing a familiar face on every outing. Friends and family at your fingertips. Knowing your way by heart. No place has ever been as good as home.
